So here is the sordid story. Let me start by saying that Robert Holland is awesome and Apple is an incredible company. I received my new iPod Touch three days after the contest ended. After a week, I finally wrenched it away from my wife's jealous paws. After another week, I finally figured out how to use it (which only took my wife about 15 minutes).
I foolishly took my iPod to church with me to teach about 30 kids aged 3-5. With the iPod in my back pocket, I spent about 2 hours of flipping, wrestling, magic tricks, and other goofing around. As the last children were leaving, I pulled out my shiny new iPod to find the crystal with a spiderweb crack all across the front and a small ding in the back of the case.
Okay, so I'm not the brightest bulb in the pack....
After a day of picking up my lower lip off the ground, and another day on the internet trying to figure out what to do, I called up Apple (I rather think I handled this disappointing episode rather well). I was informed that the repairs for the crystal would be $119.00. I asked the guy on the other end of the line if that was the best he could do. He asked me a lot of questions, and after I spoke to three other people...the gentleman on the other end of the line asked me if it would be all right with me if they replace the ipod at no charge.
I thought about this offer long and hard, and finally agreed to their terms.
Yesterday, I received my brand spanking new iPod Touch. Today my wife let me buy the best case my money could buy. My wife still says I'm not allowed to carry it in my back pocket....especially to church.
So my brand spanking new iPod Touch came directly out of the foam packing, straight into the safety of it's brand spanking new case.
God Bless, and GO DOGS!
